Herbum Follus

Herbum Follus is a plant or, more precisely, a clump of grass that grew in the shade of a majestic tree. Tired of being trodden on or mowed, this plant vied with ingenuity to overtake the old oak, its incredulous guardian, and delight the owner of the premises, a mad botanist. And so it was that Herbum Follus unfurled its supple stems some 8m high. This incredible phenomenon was greeted by a strange crowning glory: at nightfall, glowing fireflies landed at the end of the stems, making them twinkle in the wind. A few rare specimens of these will-o'-the-wisp plants still exist, thanks to the invaluable care of the botanist, who took cuttings from them.
